On Friday, July 4, Idaho lost a great man. Bill Studebaker died while kayaking the East Fork of the South Fork of the Salmon River near Yellow Pine. Over the years, Bill appeared in numerous Idaho Public Television programs including Proceeding On: The History of Idaho and Outdoor Idaho, to mention just two. I met him for the first time in 1989 while I was working on the History of Idaho series. He had a profound impact on me.
