Friends of Idaho Public Television, Inc.

The mission of the Friends of Idaho Public Television, Incorporated, is to assist Idaho Public Television in securing financial support, publicizing services and ascertaining needs from the communities we serve. The Friends of Idaho Public Television, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and has a Board of Directors comprised of individuals from across our service areas. The Friends of Idaho Public Television, Inc. also solicits funds for the Idaho Public Television Endowment, which funds the creation and acquisition of IdahoPTV programming and capital equipment.

 History Overview

In 1975 the Friends of KISU was formed.
In 1977 the Friends of KAID was formed.
In 1977 the Friends of KUID was formed.
In 1985 the Idaho Public Television Foundation was established as a non-profit organization and was incorporated under the laws of the State of Idaho.

On March 27, 2008, the Idaho Public Television Foundation, Inc., together with the Friends of Idaho Public Television, KAID/KIPT, Inc.; the Friends of Idaho Public Television, KISU, Inc.; and the Friends of Idaho Public Television, KUID/KCDT, Inc. came together as one unified organization. Also on this date, the Idaho Public Television Foundation, Inc. was renamed Friends of Idaho Public Television, Inc.

The Friends of Idaho Public Television's Board of Directors meets four times per year in various regions around the state. It is structured with the following standing committees: Advocacy, Board Development, Endowment, Executive, Marketing/Development, and Friends Councils.
